As a Component validation Engineer in HWT, you will be responsible for testing Stellantis’s latest EE architecture in a bench/Hardware‑In‑the‑Loop (HIL) environment. This position requires an experienced professional to work with a cross‑functional team to identify, generate, and implement test cases and validation criteria for many ECUs under test. Coordination with suppliers helps develop a strong understanding of the EE functions for early identification of defects and to provide evidence of defect elimination.
The Engineer will also provide feedback on the test plans and procedures for continuous improvement.
The key deliverable is to launch a world‑leading platform product that exceeds all current and future technology challenges in the drive to achieve a truly software‑defined Vehicle.
We are looking for an Engineer with a background in high‑content EE architecture, ECU functionalities, network, diagnostic, and testing, able to deliver state‑of‑the‑art EE platforms that will enable the Stellantis SW Strategy, optimize solutions, and allow hardware evolution decoupled from software with an Agile approach.
Responsibilities- Work with a cross‑functional team to identify, generate, and implement test cases and validation criteria for an ECU & sub‑system under test.
- Prepare test bench setup for multiple ECUs under testing.
- Work with validation managers to configure test setups and run tests according to the test plan.
- Investigate and validate ECU SW issues cross‑functionally.
- Develop scenarios, test cases, and write test code to test ECUs & sub‑systems using hardware‑in‑the‑loop testing environments.
- Develop test automation, automate test tools, generate, and improve automation scripts.
- Define, gather, maintain, and report on performance and health metrics related to the ECUs & sub‑systems.
- Understand testing methodologies and utilize test equipment (multimeter, scopes, CANoe, CANalyzer, etc.).
- Troubleshoot and debug hardware and software issues.
- Run tests at various levels of integration, document, and report test results.
- Willing to take actions and drive results.
- Relentlessly drive early lifecycle delivery through an agile approach.
- Develop a culture of collaboration, diversity, and inclusion.
- Ability to multitask many assignments and coordinate testing for numerous Validation Test Engineers and programs.
- Bachelor’s in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering—or equivalent from an ABET accredited university.
- Minimum of 5 years of industry experience in EE architecture, HIL, embedded SW/HW testing.
- Minimum of 5 years experience with automotive communication protocols such as CAN, LIN, Ethernet, XCP.
- Hands‑on experience automating UDS test cases.
- Experience using test equipment and validation tools such as VT system, Vtest Studio, Vector CANoe/CANalyzer, CANoe DiVa, CAN Stress.
- Moderate knowledge of CAPL scripting language.
- Strong systems thinker.
- Master’s in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering—or equivalent from an ABET accredited university.
- Track record of testing complex automotive systems and subsystems.
- Exhibits excellent, clear, and detail‑oriented written and verbal communication on highly complex topics.
- Understand Stellantis EE architecture roadmap.
- Moderate knowledge of CAPL scripting language.
- Hands‑on skills to design, build, bring up and debug test benches.
- Exhibits excellent experience in troubleshooting and root cause analysis of electrical systems.
- Ability to think outside‑the‑box in high‑pressure situations.
- DFSS and/or Reactive problem‑solving training/certification.
- Scaled Agile Framework training.
