This role is ideal for an experienced validation engineer who enjoys hands‑on testing, troubleshooting, and working across both Hardware‑in‑the‑Loop (HIL) and vehicle environments.

As a Senior Propulsion Controls Validation Engineer, you will execute validation strategies, identify software issues, and support root‑cause analysis to ensure robust powertrain system performance. You will also provide technical guidance and mentoring to team members while operating with a high level of independence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute Design Verification Plans (DVPs) across HIL and vehicle testing environments to validate propulsion control systems
  • Review propulsion system requirements for clarity, completeness, and testability and ensure alignment with validation test cases
  • Identify gaps or inconsistencies in requirements and collaborate with design teams to refine and update DVPs
  • Perform issue pre‑analysis and troubleshooting to accelerate root‑cause identification and resolution
  • Develop and execute edge‑case and failure‑mode test scenarios to uncover potential system defects
  • Conduct testing on electrified and ICE propulsion system architectures using HIL rigs and test vehicles
  • Support On‑Board Diagnostics (OBD) validation and diagnostic testing activities
  • Document test results, defects, and validation evidence to support issue tracking and resolution
  • Independently manage validation activities, timelines, and deliverables in a fast‑paced environment
  • Provide informal mentoring, including peer reviews of test strategies, troubleshooting support, and best practices
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • 5 or more years of engineering experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work independently or collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Effective team player with strong interpersonal skills, comfortable in a multi‑cultural matrix organization
  • Professional communication and presentation skills (verbal and written)
  • Fluent in English (speaking, reading, writing)
  • Hands‑on experience working on HIL and/or vehicle platforms, both on‑site and remotely as needed
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field
  • Experience with HIL and vehicle software validation testing methodologies
  • Proficiency in network protocols
  • Strong understanding of propulsion system architectures
  • Hands‑on experience with CANoe, CANalyzer, and INCA tools
  • Knowledge of hazard analysis criteria and electronics
  • Experience simulating CAN messages via CAPL
