Administrator III, Outreach Programs
Location: Auburn, Alabama.
The Department of Government & Economic Development Institute (GEDI) at Auburn University seeks an experienced Outreach Program Administrator to design, coordinate, and implement training and educational programs for local and state governments and economic development agencies across Alabama.
Responsibilities- Develop and coordinate outreach programs for targeted groups, assess program needs, organize program materials, and evaluate program success.
- Develop and implement in‑service training, including program design, planning, implementation, and follow‑up activities.
- Meet with clientele to define needs or problem areas.
- Assist in the development of marketing plans and publicity materials for distribution to a targeted audience.
- Maintain a database or website related to a specific activity, project, or service, and act as project manager in planning and coordinating activities to support a specific program.
- Investigate and develop reports and strategies, and identify avenues to disseminate information.
- Manage and assist in the development of budgets and maintain financial records related to a specific activity, project, or service.
- Work alongside governing boards to conduct activities on behalf of professional associations and state agencies.
- Demonstrate excellent communication, writing, and computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Suite.
- Hold a valid driver’s license or be able to obtain one before employment.
- Bachelor's degree in a discipline appropriate to the position.
- At least 4 years of experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Designing, implementing, delivering, and managing educational programs, conferences, or providing association management services.
- Working with governing boards (e.g., boards of directors, advisory boards, city councils, school boards).
- Working in or supporting the public sector, with familiarity with local government, state government, and/or economic development organizations or agencies.
- Substitution allowed for
Experience:
candidates may convert up to one year of relevant education per year of required experience.
