Position Information
The RFID Lab is seeking a part-time Power BI Dashboard Developer to support reporting and analytics initiatives for retail and research projects. This role will assist with building and maintaining Power BI dashboards, transforming raw data into actionable insights, and collaborating with internal teams to deliver high-quality visual reporting for stakeholders. This is an excellent opportunity for students interested in data analytics, business intelligence, dashboards, and real-world industry reporting.
Essential Functions
:
- Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports for RFID Lab internal teams and partners
- Create clear, meaningful visualizations (KPIs, trends, drill downs, filters, charts, tables)
- Perform data cleaning and preparation for reporting use (Excel, CSV, SQL outputs, etc.)
- Write and optimize DAX measures and calculated columns as needed
- Support dashboard performance improvements (model size, relationships, refresh behavior)
- Work with lab team leads to gather requirements and translate them into dashboard features
- Maintain documentation for dashboards, metrics definitions, and data sources
- Assist in validating dashboards for accuracy and consistency before delivery
Minimum Qualifications
Must be currently enrolled as an Auburn University undergraduate student.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with DAX (measures, CALCULATE, FILTER)
- Experience with SQL
- Familiarity with data refresh concepts (scheduled refresh, data sources)
- Ability to build dashboards with strong UI/UX (clean layouts, intuitive navigation)
- Experience working with large datasets (performance-aware modeling)
- Understanding of RFID, retail reporting, inventory, compliance, or operational analytics (a plus)
- Experience with Tableau or Python (bonus)
- Experience using Power BI Desktop
- Understanding of basic data concepts: tables, joins/relationships, filters, aggregations
- Ability to communicate clearly and work collaboratively with a team
- Strong attention to detail and ability to troubleshoot reporting issues
- Experience using Microsoft Excel

: $15.00 per hour
