The Department of Business Analytics & Information Systems (BASY) in the Harbert College of Business at Auburn University seeks applications for a nine-month, non-tenure track, non-tenure eligible full-time teaching faculty position as a Lecturer or Professor of Practice. This is an annual appointment with the renewal contingent upon the availability of funds, the need for services, and satisfactory performance. The effective date of employment will be August 2027.

The successful candidate's primary responsibility for this position is to teach analytics courses, mainly but not limited to Introduction to Business Analytics, Machine Learning, Descriptive Analytics, etc. The successful candidate will be expected to bring experience, innovation, enthusiasm, and leadership to these courses. The successful candidate is expected to remain current in this field of expertise through professional consulting activities and continuing professional education.

In addition to instructional duties, the successful candidate will be expected to serve the university, college, and department.

Successful applicants must possess a Doctoral degree in Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science or related field from an AACSB-accredited institution at the time of employment or a Master’s degree with significant industry experience. Relevant professional certifications would be an asset. The candidate must have strong interpersonal skills and excellent written and communication skills in the English language. The successful candidate must meet eligibility requirements to work in the U.S. at the time of employment and continue working legally for the proposed term of employment.

The Department of Business Analytics and Information Systems at the Harbert College of Business is home to the nationally ranked undergraduate program in Business Analytics and a thriving undergraduate, master's, and PhD program in Information Systems. The department also offers graduate certificates in Information Systems, Cyber Security Management, and Business Analytics. The faculty supporting these two programs consists of 15 tenure track faculty, five lecturers, two professors of practice, and one person dedicated to the professional development of business analytics and management information systems students.

Our faculty have various research interests and publish in top-tier journals, such as Information Systems Research, Journal of Management Information Systems, Production and Operations Management, Manufacturing and Service Operations Management and European Journal of Information Systems.
