Auburn University Facilities Management is excited to announce an opening for a 2nd Shift Assistant Supervisor in our Preventive Maintenance shop. This leadership role focuses on maintaining campus facilities to support Auburn’s academic, research, and outreach mission.

• Coordinate daily tasks of maintenance workforce, ensuring compliance with university standards and contract requirements.
• Diagnose, repair, and replace parts related to HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical equipment.
• Maintain accurate data in the work management system and provide reporting to senior leadership.
• Respond to after‑hours emergency calls and manage special projects or maintenance emergencies.
• Communicate with supervisors, stakeholders, and customers to coordinate activities and resolve issues.
• Participate in recruitment and performance reviews of multi‑trade positions.
• Assist in budget coordination for the shop and oversee shop purchases and material requests.
• Ensure training and certification requirements are met and perform other specialized tasks as assigned.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 5 years of experience in construction and trades.
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance processes, HVAC, plumbing, electrical building systems, blueprints, shop drawings, and construction principals.
• Experience with work order systems and Microsoft Office.
• Valid driver’s license.

Additional education or certifications related to maintenance or construction will be considered.

3:30 PM – 12:00 AM. A 10% shift differential is paid for all hours of a regularly assigned evening or night shift (four hours or more between 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m.).
