Quality Control Technician – Automotive Manufacturing Job Summary
The Quality Control Technician is responsible for inspecting automotive parts and assemblies to ensure they meet quality standards, engineering specifications, and customer requirements. This role supports production by identifying defects, documenting findings, and working closely with manufacturing teams to drive continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities- Inspect automotive components, sub-assemblies, and finished products for defects or deviations
- Perform in-process and final inspections using measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges)
- Read and interpret blueprints, control plans, and work instructions
- Document inspection results and maintain quality records
- Identify non-conforming materials and initiate corrective actions
- Support root cause analysis and continuous improvement efforts
- Verify compliance with quality standards
- Conduct audits and assist with activities (as applicable)
- Communicate quality issues to production, engineering, and management
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area following safety procedures
- High school diploma or GED required (technical or quality certifications preferred)
- 1–2 years of quality control experience in automotive or manufacturing environments
- Strong knowledge of inspection methods and measurement tools
- Familiarity with SPC, root cause analysis, and corrective actions
- Basic computer skills (quality systems, Excel, data entry)
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to stand, bend, and lift up to 40-50 lbs as required
- Automotive manufacturing
- Experience with Tier 1 suppliers
- Knowledge of(IATF 16949, ISO 9001) quality systems
- Fast-paced automotive manufacturing facility
- Exposure to machinery, noise, and production equipment
- Overtime may be required
- Please note we have positions in Dadeville and Auburn AL.
