The Heat Treat Specialist is a new position within the company, and we are seeking a seasoned self‑starter, highly skilled and experienced Heat Treat Leader who can help bring this process in‑house. This is a full‑time, on‑site role based in Auburn, AL. This individual must have a strong knowledge of heat‑treating methods, the technical execution of metal strengthening processes such as finishing, bending, or forming.
This individual is responsible for executing and monitoring heat treatment processes. This role collaborates closely with production, engineering, and quality teams to troubleshoot issues, optimize process parameters, and maintain process consistency.
- Education:
High‑school diploma/GED is standard; a degree in Metallurgy or Materials Science is preferred. - Experience:
3–5 years of hands‑on experience in manufacturing heat‑treat. - Technical
Skills:
Excellent problem‑solving analytical, root‑cause analysis skills. - Proficiency in reading and interpreting detailed metric drawings, schematics, assembly blueprints, and a firm understanding of heat‑treat specifications and nomenclature. Preference for understanding NADCAP, AS9100 or ISO quality standards.
- Ability to think strategically and work independently as well as function effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively. Fast learner and self‑starter.
- Willingness to travel to Germany to train. Annual travel is nominal and less than 25 %
