.
As a Painter Spray B, you will be a key player in delivering high‑quality finishes on aircraft components. Candidates must see color accurately and apply various coatings, including primers and protective finishes, ensuring every part meets stringent quality standards. You will prepare surfaces meticulously, remove corrosion, perform chemical reactivation, operate curing ovens, monitor time‑sensitive materials, and collaborate with team members to maintain an efficient workflow in a safe and compliant environment.
PositionResponsibilities
- Spray and/or brush prime, finish prime, and protective coatings to aircraft detailed parts and assemblies per blueprints and specifications.
- Prepare surfaces for proper adhesion, including removal of corrosion, paint stripping, and chemical reactivation.
- Perform rework and touch‑up painting using spray and brush techniques per BAC specifications.
- Prepare paint materials (primers, enamels, lacquers) according to BAC specifications.
- Clean and service spray guns, paint tanks, brushes, hoses, and related equipment after use.
- Mask and unmask areas as required following drawings and specifications.
- Set up all equipment and supplies necessary for work assignments.
- Operate curing ovens and related equipment, ensuring proper function and documenting as required.
- Monitor and maintain time‑sensitive materials and processes to comply with operational standards.
- Review work instructions to support division of work for incoming orders and ensure quality compliance.
- Part mark and wrap finished parts and assemblies per BAC specifications.
- Obtain and maintain necessary certifications and qualifications for the role.
- Screen work instructions for clarity and adherence to specifications.
- Coordinate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to schedules.
- Document equipment functionality and any adjustments made during the painting process.
- Lifting weights ranging from 10‑15 lbs to 15‑35 lbs.
- Reaching, handling, turning, twisting, lifting, lowering, climbing, balancing, bending, kneeling, crouching, and squatting.
- Contact with metals, solvents, coolants, sharp cutters, moving parts, and potential slipping hazards.
- Operates in varying noise levels and atmospheric conditions.
- Utilizes personal safety gear to protect face, eyes, hands, arms, and feet while performing job duties.
- Experience prepping, cleaning, and painting various surfaces in industrial, commercial, or academic settings.
- Experience using and maintaining various types of paint equipment and applicators such as HVLP, pneumatic, electrostatic, and others.
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, ratios).
- Experience handling and disposing hazardous materials per government regulations.
- Ability to walk, stand, bend, twist, squat, kneel throughout the workday.
- Ability to use low‑impact vibratory tools (sander/buffer).
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment (eye, hearing, foot, hand, respirator, other) at all times.
- Experience performing aircraft or autobody painting and finishing operations.
- Experience utilizing and following detailed work instructions.
Successful candidates must complete the Company’s Conflict of Interest (COI) assessment process.
EducationHigh school graduate or GED preferred.
