Job Description

Work just 15 days a month with a rotating schedule! (Bi-weekly schedule: work Monday & Tuesday, off Wednesday & Thursday, work Friday, Saturday & Sunday, off Monday & Tuesday, work Wednesday & Thursday, off Friday, Saturday & Sunday, then the schedule repeats.)

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Operate stretch blow molding machines and lift equipment, inspect and pack rigid‑plastic PET containers, and perform scheduled charting and inspections on machines and associated equipment.
  • Start and stop stretch blow molding machines to produce quality, rigid‑plastic containers.
  • Perform routine inspections, cleaning, lubricating, and/or tightening of machine assembles.
  • Perform container inspections using test equipment, statistical quality methods & visual inspection techniques.
  • Pack containers into boxes/cartons at designated production‑line speeds according to specifications & stack packed cartons to build 4 ft. high units.
  • Safely operate lift trucks to move materials.
  • Perform as a responsible team member to maintain a clean, safe, and effective work environment.
  • Operate stretch blow molding machines, pull seepage, apply SPC methodologies for initiating machine adjustments, change materials, assist in changeovers and identify start and stop of out‑of‑spec production (held ware).
  • Responsible for maintaining and adhering to established Good Manufacturing Procedures (GMP) and Safety Quality Foods (SQF) compliance requirements.
  • Responsible for adhering to Food Safety Compliance.
  • Accountable for the safety of all employees for whom they are responsible through active engagement in safety activities and provides clear, consistent communication of safe work expectations.
  • Supports and investigates situations in which line/equipment stoppage occurs due to perceived, imminent safety risk.
  • Completes responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and procedures, and applicable laws.
  • Complete daily attendance roster.
  • Delegate daily work assignments.
  • Schedule breaks and assist in relieving operators.
  • Monitor production schedule for upcoming machine/order changes.
  • Verify raw materials are in the facility before needed.
  • Verify completion of production paperwork before submitted.
  • Schedule overtime when necessary using seniority as a tool.
  • Manage employees and administer disciplinary actions when necessary.
  • Enter production and downtime accurately in Web Eff database.
  • Act as representative for supervisor in their absence.
  • Follow all Safety, Food Safety, GMP and HACCP practices.
  • Actively leads risk assessment activities for their area of responsibility by driving prioritized corrective and preventive actions to eliminate/reduce environmental, health or safety risks.
  • Lead all required meetings with safety (i.e. Pre‑shift, Department, Change Management, General communication, Town Hall, etc.).
  • Completes incident investigations, root cause analysis and implements corrective actions accordingly in a timely and thorough manner.
  • Ensures the proper training and development of all assigned employees for whom they are responsible.
  • Sets goals for their organizational unit; achieves goals and ensures that all employees understand and work toward achieving goals.
  • Motivates and coaches employees through good communication and frequent performance feedback. Identifies and coordinates additional training as needed.
Compensation

$24.00–$27.00 hourly, based on experience, skills, and qualifications.
