Student Writer Position
Auburn University's Office of Communications and Marketing is looking for a talented student writer. In this role, you'll gain real-world experience, research and write university-level stories, and work alongside communications and marketing professionals every day.
Responsibilities- Interview people from across campus
- Write news, research and feature stories for Auburn's website, and print and digital publications
- Help tell stories about groundbreaking research, academics, the student experience and Auburn traditions
- Attend and write about events happening around campus
- Work with photographers, designers and communicators to bring stories to life
- Pitch your own ideas
- Learn what it's like to work in a communications and marketing office
Enrolled student at Auburn University
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines
- Major in journalism, communications, public relations, English, marketing or related
Desired qualifications:
- Passion for storytelling
- Inquisitive and enjoys interviewing students, faculty, staff and alumni
- Pays attention to the details
- Ability to take direction and constructive criticism
- Enjoys working and contributing as part of a collaborative team
