Position Summary Information
The Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking applications from individuals with a DVM or its equivalent and relevant experience at the time the appointment begins. Position is non‑tenure track and is available for a minimum of one year as a full‑time 12‑month appointment with renewal possible. Responsibilities include but are not limited to working with animals and performing the following:
- Health Maintenance and clinical veterinary oversight duties for project animals.
- Maintenance of health records and clinical assessments in accordance with standard operating procedures.
- Veterinary care and oversight of technical and laboratory procedures.
- Supervision of project personnel or students regarding care and use of animals.
- After‑hours and emergency care of project animals as required.
- Responsibility for veterinary expertise, oversight, and assistance in any associated project activities as required.
As a Clinical Veterinary Fellow (Doctor of Veterinary Medicine) you will support the preventative healthcare and overall well‑being of Auburn University’s canine colony
. This role will also assist with ongoing research projects and ensure compliance with all laboratory animal health protocols. The position is integral to advancing Auburn’s Canine Performance Sciences program and contributes to the College of Veterinary Medicine’s mission of excellence in teaching, research, and service.
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent at the time the appointment begins and hold active USDA Category I veterinary accreditation, active veterinary license in the state of Alabama and DEA license at the time the appointment begins or the ability to obtain license and accreditation within 30 days of employment.
Desired QualificationsDVM with experience in laboratory animal health, preventative veterinary health, working dog medicine, sports medicine, theriogenology, and/or veterinary ethology
