Description

The Associate is responsible for completing in‑store food and non‑food demonstrations. The role includes acquiring and maintaining comprehensive knowledge of the products represented, preparing, serving, and breaking down product, equipment and supplies, intercepting consumers to provide professional demonstrations, and maintaining an overall professional appearance consistent with job requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Possess the aptitude to gain adequate knowledge of the products represented.
  • Proactively intercept, engage, interact with, and sell product to consumers in a positive manner.
  • Effectively communicate the features and benefits of the product.
  • Prepare and serve food samples using small appliances such as microwaves, fryers, skillets, coffee makers, and knives.
  • Maintain a clean, sterile, and safe workstation using cleaning chemicals.
  • Maintain a professional appearance consistent with the requirements of the job.
  • Set up and prepare the event table for execution.
  • Achieve 100% execution on assigned work.
  • Assist with preparation for client visits and complete audit corrections.
  • Build and maintain rapport with store personnel to effectively meet company and client objectives.
  • Complete expense reports as per Company Policy.
  • Accurately prepare and submit all on‑line requirements on the same day as event execution.
  • Access the internet, navigate company electronic systems, use Microsoft Outlook, and view assigned documents, including Microsoft Word and Adobe PDF forms.

This role is not expected to exceed more than 25 hours per week, although the company retains discretion to adjust the role based on business or client needs.

Qualifications

Education / Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months’ related experience and/or training preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Computer

Skills:

Proficient in using and navigating a personal computer or mobile device with applications and internal systems.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: A local food handler’s permit may be required.

Physical Demands: Regularly required to stand and walk for the shift; use hands and fingers; reach with hands and arms up to 65 inches; talk and hear; read instructions and perform events; stoop, kneel, squat; climb or step up a ladder; balance; lift and carry up to 25 pounds (occasionally up to 50 pounds); push and pull a wheeled demonstration cart fully laden with appliances, supplies and product;

prepare foods and beverages using required appliances such as cooking utensils, knives, convection oven, coffee maker, electric fryer, and microwaves; be in contact with cleaning supplies.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None.

Work Environment: Retail store environment with limited travel.

Physical Appearance: Individuals must ensure a professional appearance and proper grooming. The associate must present a neat, clean, and appropriately groomed appearance. Specific retailer dress code requirements are included in training documents.

Language

Skills:

English is the primary language skill; bilingual skills may be required based on business necessity.
