Student Assistant for Food Organics Recycling Solutions
The Department of Poultry Science is seeking a student to assist with all operations pertaining to the Food Organics Recycling Solutions composting system located at the Charles
C. Miller Jr. Poultry Research and Education Center.
- Transporting food waste from main campus to the Miller Center using a university owned pick-up truck with hydraulic lift gate
- Transporting finished compost product back to main campus or other designated areas
- Weighing and loading food waste and carbon sources into the Food Organics Recycling Solutions composting system
- Monitoring the internal temperature of the Food Organics Recycling Solutions composting system
- Collecting and submitting compost samples to designated laboratories
- Maintaining a clean working environment
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor
- Currently enrolled as an Auburn University student.
- Must be able to work at least 10 hours a week.
- Afternoon availability preferred but not mandatory.
- Must have a valid driver's license and be able to pass an MVR.
- Must be able to lift 50lbs.
- Ability to push/pull containers weighing up to 250lbs preferred.
