Overview

The Auburn University Libraries invites applications for a Graduate Student Assistant position in Digital Humanities for Fall 2026 and Spring 2027. This is an excellent opportunity for students interested in combining literary scholarship with digital methodologies. The selected candidate will contribute to the Alabama Authors of the 19th and 20th Centuries and the newly created Alabama Cookbooks digital projects, gaining valuable research experience while also learning from established models such as the George Eliot Archive and its sister projects.

This role provides valuable experience in research, technical writing, and digital content management, which are key skills for careers in academic research, publishing, library and information science, and digital project management.

The selected candidate will lead the creation of a new digital subproject within the Alabama Authors of the 19th and 20th Centuries, a digital humanities initiative preserving Alabama’s literary history. While the student will learn from established digital projects like the George Eliot Archive, their primary focus will be on the Alabama Authors project.
