Lead Diesel Technician
Transdev in Auburn, Alabama is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Diesel Technician to supervise and coordinate the activities of the diesel technician team, ensuring efficient diagnosis, maintenance, and repair of diesel vehicles and equipment.
CompensationCompetitive hourly rate of $33.00 – $35.00 per hour.

- Coordinate and prioritize the workload of the diesel technician team, assigning tasks and ensuring timely completion.
- Utilize advanced diagnostic tools to identify and troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues.
- Manage inventory levels of parts and supplies, minimizing waste and excess inventory.
- Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, brakes and other components in accordance with manufacturer specifications and industry standards.
- Coach and monitor team members.
- Travel may be required outside the immediate area.
- Other duties as required.
- At least 4 years of experience as a diesel technician.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing diesel engines and related systems.
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
- Flexibility to work shifts or flexible schedules.
- Subject to DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs.
- Work outside in varying temperatures, weather and humidity; 100% of the job is performed outdoors, often in remote locations.
- Extended periods seated (up to 6–8 hours per day); frequent walking over long distances on uneven or slippery surfaces.
- Push and pull objects up to 25 pounds; lift materials up to 50 lbs with or without assistance; occasional kneel or crouch to ground level.
- Withstand heavy traffic areas while performing duties; tolerate exposure to dust, vehicle fumes and noise.
