Department Overview
Power Generation operates and maintains PG&E's hydroelectric, fossil, solar generation and battery storage facilities, providing approximately 5,300 megawatts of generating capacity for our customers. Our over 900 coworkers are dedicated to delivering safe, reliable and cost-effective generation to California in an environmentally responsible manner. Our hydro facilities include 62 conventional hydro powerhouses, a pumped-storage facility, 98 reservoirs, 168 dams and more than 200 miles of canals and flumes, among other water conveyances.
Natural gas-fired plants in operation are Humboldt Bay Generating Station in Eureka;
Colusa Generating Station in Colusa County and Gateway Generating Station in Antioch. Several utility-scale solar generation plants also are operated and maintained, as well as PG&E’s successful entry into battery energy storage, our Elkhorn Battery facility at Moss Landing in Monterey County.
The Compliance Data Analyst extracts compliance data for analysis, leadership support and responses to ad hoc data requests. The incumbent maintains compliance documents, templates, records, tools, databases and enterprise compliance systems ensuring they are kept up-to-date using data from various PG&E systems and regulatory sources. The Analyst identifies and solves current gaps in compliance data requirements and ease of access and identifies opportunities to design and implement improved compliance data practices.
This role also designs and continuously improves standardized and automated compliance and performance data practices that support governance execution, audit readiness, and leadership decision‑making across Power Generation. The Analyst administers the Power Generation Risk & Compliance Committee operating cadence, monthly meeting coordination, and presenter prep.
- Project Management:
Manage data management projects from initial request to presenting data results ensuring that the project is completed within budget and on‑time. - Data Processing:
Create automated data routines and processes for reporting and data delivery ensuring accurate data manipulation and data cleansing. - Data Extracts and File Transfers:
Manage extracting data and transferring the data from databases to various analysts to support operational analysis efforts. - Reporting:
Develop and communicate clear, concise and actionable reports for leadership. - Design and continuously improve standardized and automated compliance and performance data practices supporting governance execution, audit readiness, and leadership decision‑making.
- Administer the PGen Risk & Compliance Committee (RCC) operating cadence including monthly meeting material preparation and presenter coordination; coordinate audit readiness and evidence support; develop and maintain evidence‑readiness guidance.
- Maintain enterprise compliance records and required reporting inputs; track Corrective Action Plan (CAP) execution status; administer the compliance requirements and controls dataset.
- Establish standardized data collection, validation, and reporting across Power Generation work groups; manage extracts and queries across multiple systems (including SAP) with validation and reconciliation controls; design and refine integrated data collection and reporting processes; and support cross‑training to enable effective data and reporting support for the PGen Regulatory Correspondence team.
- Work with other Compliance Management Analysts to process data, analyze data and report findings. Creates automated data routines and processes for reporting and data delivery ensuring accurate data manipulation and data cleansing.
- Manages standard data extracts and list pulls ensuring accurate data. Transfer the data from databases to various analysts to support operational analysis efforts.
- Demonstrate full understanding of data processing and analysis techniques. Analyze data using various statistical tools to develop ad‑hoc reports, statistics, trends and profiles.
- Develop and communicate clear, concise and actionable data analyses for clients.
