A Relationship Manager is a member of the Relationship Management/Business Development Team for River Valley Community Bank. They strive for excellence, focusing on customer service, collaboration, regulatory compliance, and safety and soundness in accordance with the bank’s objectives. Each Relationship Manager will develop new business relationships including lending and deposit products, cross-sell additional banking products, provide quality customer service, and will be active in the community including networking events and community service events.
The Relationship Manager must understand and adhere to the bank’s policies and procedures while recommending and providing solutions which meet the client's needs. They are expected to have knowledge and understanding of, and be compliant with, all Federal and State bank regulations.
- Establishes profitable new customer relationships and deepens existing relationships by matching their financial needs with all the appropriate banking products.
- Develops a comprehensive understanding of client’s needs providing integrated delivery of financial products/services which meet the clients’ needs while complying with bank policies and procedures.
- Achieves assigned sales targets and goals while maintaining a high level of client satisfaction and retention.
- Develops and manages prospect lists and actively calls on prospects to solicit and develop new relationships.
- Develops and maintains a strong referral networking and actively represents/markets the bank at civic and community functions.
- Works closely with branch staff and other customer facing roles within the bank to identify opportunities to deepen existing relationships and cross train staff on lending products.
- Identifies treasury management product, deposit, and lending opportunities within the existing portfolio and external prospects and works with the Treasury Management Officer to effectively implement new products/training with clients.
- Communicates the status of opportunities consistently to Senior Management through regularly scheduled meetings and on an as needed basis.
- Works closely with branch staff to train and discuss lending products with existing clients, as opportunities arise.
- Assists team in preventing and/or resolving customer issues.
- Responsible for assigned customer credit quality and reporting requirements, consistent with the Bank’s loan documentation and credit policies.
- Actively collaborates with lending, business development, and operational teams. Provides handson support to Bank’s lending personnel as a deposit and treasury product expert.
- Complies with the requirements of the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA). Maintains a working knowledge of Bank's written policies and procedures regarding, Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation CC, Regulation E, and other regulations as applicable to this job description.
- Performs and assists in other miscellaneous duties, as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, or related field or equivalent work experience.
- One year or more of Commercial Banking Relationship Management experience is preferred, but not required.
- Previous customer service experience.
