The Executive Director (ED) is the Chief Executive Officer of Placer Artists Tour and serves as the chief administrative and operational leader. The ED reports to the Board of Directors, and is responsible for the organization's consistent achievement of its mission and financial objectives. The ED works closely with the staff, contractors, volunteers, artists, sponsors, donors, grantors, and community partners to advance the organization's mission and vision.

The ED oversees strategic planning, organizational management, fundraising, event production, and community partnerships to ensure the successful delivery of Placer Artists Tour programs and long-term organizational sustainability. The ED is involved with artist relations, grant administration, marketing, fundraising, managing contractors and the Endowment Committee as needed.

Responsibilities

The Executive Director will:

  • Provide leadership in developing and executing programs, organizational and financial plans with the Board of Directors, contractors and staff, and carry out plans and policies authorized by the Board
  • Cultivate a strong and transparent relationship with the Board of Directors, staff and independent contractors to ensure open communication about the measurement of financial, programmatic, and impact performance against stated milestones and goals
  • Represent the programs and the organization to the community, organizations, businesses, artists and venues, and the general public
  • Build strategic partnerships, establish relationships with funders and key stakeholders, explore, identify and develop new opportunities to promote and sustain the mission of the organization
  • Develop annual budget with Board Treasurer
  • Research grant opportunities, prepare applications, carry out grant requirements and reporting
  • Encourage staff and volunteer development and assist program staff and contractors in relating their specialized work to the goals of the organization

General

Duties include:
  • Serve as primary ambassador for the organization and represent it within the community and at public meetings and community events
  • Attend monthly Board meetings and committee meetings as needed. Provide timely reports and documents to the Board to assist them in making informed decisions
  • Build and expand relationships with local governments, arts organizations, Chambers of Commerce, community foundations, educational institutions, cultural organizations, and business partners
  • Develop and maintain operational procedures and best practices
  • Evaluate program outcomes and participant satisfaction; perform other related duties as needed
  • Willing to work flexible hours with occasional evenings and weekends; local travel required, must have reliable transportation
Specific Tasks include:
  • Plan, coordinate, and manage the annual Placer Artists Tour, including timelines and project schedules
  • Develop annual marketing strategies, advertising campaigns, social media strategy and content planning with Marketing Manager; oversee branding, public relations, media outreach, and messaging consistency
  • Assist Communications Manager in development of newsletters, website content and updates, and email marketing campaigns
