Crane Aerospace & Electronics is seeking to hire a Production Supervisor on 2nd shift (4pm-2am) at our site in Auburn, CA/Vian Enterprises
.
Crane Aerospace & Electronics supplies critical systems and components to the aerospace and defense markets. Our Auburn facility designs and manufactures multi-stage lubrication and gerotor pumps for aerospace and defense applications, and provides industry-leading, complex, highly engineered flow control products for mission-critical engine/APU systems. The facility is located in the Northern California foothills of the Sierra Nevada at a 65,000 sq.
ft. site.

Job SummaryThe Production Supervisor leads and directs a team in an assigned area of operations such as Metal Fabrication, Assembly, and/or Test. The supervisor is accountable for maintaining a safe working environment, adhering to quality standards, and meeting customer demand schedules within established cost goals. Supervision may include management of employees on more than one shift.
Responsibilities- Drive Continuous Improvement:
Apply lean manufacturing tools and mentor team members in their use. - Manage Resources & Budgets:
Provide input on resource planning, overtime, and productivity for monthly and annual budgets. - Monitor Performance & Solve Problems:
Review KPIs daily and lead problem-solving using methods like 8 Step, 5 Why, and Fishbone. - Ensure Quality & Compliance:
Identify and process non-conforming materials to minimize scrap and rework. - Lead & Develop Teams:
Allocate resources, make staffing decisions, and coach employees to support business growth.
- Experience:
3+ years supervisory experience; 5+ years of experience with lathes, grinding, or machine shop. - Knowledge:
Deep understanding of cellular manufacturing practices; comfortable teaching manufacturing-based continuous improvement skills (standard work, 5S, material replenishment, etc.). - Skills/Abilites:
Intermediate MS Office skills; effectively communicate (written and verbal) with all levels of the business and present to groups both small and large; ability to align customer demand with manufacturing capacity to develop labor planning/allocations; ability to use data to determine root causes of issues to drive corrective action. - Education/Certification:
Associates or Bachelors degree preferred. High school diploma or GED required. - Eligibility:
This position may require access to Controlled Data or Information. Where required, only US Persons will be considered. ITAR compliance applies as a DoD contractor.
- Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment.
- May require use of safety equipment (eye protection, gowning, masks, hearing protection, etc.).
- May be exposed to loud noises, cold temperatures, confined spaces, dust or fumes.
- Occasional travel to support customers.
- Physical demands:
Standing 25%, Sitting 75%;
Lifting up to 10 lbs;

Salary range: 100, (+10% shift differential). Salaries are influenced by experience and qualifications. Some roles may participate in performance-based bonus programs.
