Field Engineer Assistant; Part Time

We are seeking a Field Engineer Assistant to join our team in a part-time, entry-level capacity. This role is ideal for a current civil engineering student who is eager to gain hands-on experience in heavy civil construction and project operations.

You’ll work alongside experienced project teams, gaining exposure to field operations, compliance, documentation, and project coordination while developing a strong foundation in construction practices.

As a Field Engineer Assistant, you will support both field and office operations and gain valuable, real-world experience.

Responsibilities include:

• Assist project teams with general field and administrative support tasks
• Support daily reporting, data entry, and project documentation
• Observe and learn construction methods and jobsite activities
• Help track quantities, deliveries, and project progress
• Maintain organized project records and compliance documentation
• Assist with safety documentation and observe jobsite safety practices
• Coordinate with Project Engineers, Foremen, and other team members
• Support project scheduling updates and coordination tasks
• Participate in meetings and field walk-throughs
• Take on additional duties to support the project team as needed

• Currently pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
• Basic understanding of construction or engineering principles
• Ability to read and interpret plans/drawings with guidance
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
• Ability to follow direction and work both independently and as part of a team

Preferred (but not required):

• Prior construction or field experience
• Mix of field and office work, depending on project needs
• Requires flexibility for occasional evenings or weekends
• Opportunity to gain hands-on experience in active construction environments

• Ability to lift, climb, kneel, crouch, and perform moderate physical activity
