A full-time contract position is open for a dedicated Special Education Teacher with expertise in Autism Spectrum Disorder, providing onsite services to elementary students (K-6). This assignment is set to begin as soon as possible, running through the end of the current school year, with options for extended year or future renewal.

In this pivotal role, you'll support and inspire students with mild to intense learning needs, emphasizing Applied Skills instruction. The majority of your caseload will consist of students diagnosed with ASD, ensuring your specialized knowledge is both invaluable and deeply appreciated.

What We're Looking For:
  • Valid Special Education Teacher license with Mild or Intense Intervention endorsement (required)
  • Demonstrated experience working with elementary-age students (K-6) in a self-contained or inclusive setting
  • Proficiency in supporting students with ASD, through both academic and functional/behavioral interventions
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, working alongside fellow educators, support staff, and families
  • Reflective, adaptive, and committed to ongoing professional growth
Your Responsibilities:
  • Deliver tailored academic and life-skill instruction to students with varying exceptionalities
  • Implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), documenting progress and updating goals as needed
  • Foster an inclusive classroom environment that encourages social, emotional, and academic development
  • Utilize evidence-based strategies and collaborate closely with aides, therapists, and school personnel
  • Proactively engage in parent communication and participate in IEP meetings
This position is full-time, with hours from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday. The role is based at an elementary school in a vibrant, welcoming community, offering the potential for an ongoing placement.
