Overview
Join our dedicated team and assist physicians in delivering essential care services in audiology, optometry, podiatry, and behavioral health within various long-term care facilities. Your primary responsibilities will include maintaining accurate clinical records through electronic medical systems, caring for medical equipment, and providing vital support to healthcare providers.
Responsibilities Essential Job Functions- Assist doctors with professionalism and courtesy during patient interactions.
- Prepare charts for scheduled patients ahead of visits to ensure efficiency.
- Ensure that clinical records and medical histories are accurate and current during patient appointments.
- Guarantee the integrity of all patient documentation.
- Generate end-of-visit reports on the same day and share them with management.
- Provide feedback and collaborate with branch offices to enhance scheduling and reporting processes.
- Facilitate patient flow during facility visits, which may include assisting with mobility needs.
- Compile and present daily production reports to management.
- Post charges accurately to the appropriate providers promptly.
- Function in a medical office environment as designated by the facility.
- Ensure all medical equipment is cleaned and maintained after each visit.
- Manage medical supplies by conducting inventory audits, anticipating needs, and placing orders as necessary.
- Optimize resource preparation to minimize waste and avoid duplication.
- Carry out preventive maintenance on medical equipment according to the manufacturer's guidelines.
- Leave service areas tidy after visits.
- Exhibit strong multitasking abilities, attention to detail, and exceptional customer service.
- Demonstrate a solid grasp of medical terminology.
- Ensure a positive experience for all patients.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with patients, family members, providers, and staff.
- Respond promptly to patient inquiries and document interactions in the electronic medical record system.
- Travel up to 100% of the time to various medical facilities.
- Support and comply with all aspects of the compliance program, including reporting any suspected violations.
- Maintain confidentiality of all patient information, adhering to HIPAA, OSHA, and PHI guidelines.
- Show adaptability to change and perform additional duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED.
- Reliable transportation, good driving record, and current car insurance are required.
- Completion and passing of a two-step Tuberculosis (TB) Skin Test are mandatory.
- Proficient computer skills.
- Excellent communication abilities.
- Ability to follow instructions and listen attentively to the needs of patients and providers.
This role requires full mobility, including manual dexterity and coordination, with the ability to stand, walk, push, and bend as needed. Lifting requirements vary based on specialty but generally involve lifting under 50 pounds for audiology and vision, with minimal lifting for podiatry tasks. Ability to push patients in wheelchairs is also necessary. Vision and hearing must be corrected to normal ranges.
The role may involve working under stressful conditions or irregular hours and may expose team members to communicable diseases or bodily fluids.
