The Recovery Specialist position will offer guidance and support to individuals seeking or in recovery from substance use disorders and/or mental health needs. The Recovery Specialist is willing to use and share his or her personal, practical experience, knowledge, and first-hand insight to benefit the team and its clients. As a full integrated team member, the Recovery Specialist will provide expertise about the recovery process, symptom management, and the persistence required by clients to have a satisfying life.

He or she will collaborate to promote a team culture that recognizes, understands, and respects each client’s point of view, experiences, and preferences. The Recovery Specialist will be responsible to maximize client choice, self-determination and decision-making in the planning, delivery, and evaluation of treatment, rehabilitation and support services.

Other activities will include:

• peer counseling and consultation to individual clients, families, and team staff
• acting as a liaison with community resources
• carrying out case management, rehabilitation, and support functions
• and assisting in treatment, substance abuse services, education, support and consultation to families, and crisis intervention under the clinical supervision of staff with professional degrees

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent

Experience:

An individual living in recovery with a mental health and/or substance use condition. Or a family member of another person living with a mental health and/or substance use condition.

Licenses:
Must possess a valid state issued driver's license.

Certifications:

Certified Recovery Specialist or able to pursue required certification

Shift: Part-time, evenings, at least 12hrs/wk.
