Flooring Installation Apprentice

Van's Home Center is looking for motivated individuals who would like to learn the trade of flooring installation, including carpet, hardwood, vinyl, and tile installers. As an installer apprentice, you are a key member of the team responsible for the quality and efficient installation, maintenance, and repair of flooring products in new and existing homes. You will be working side by side with an experienced lead installer, learning a trade that could lead to an exciting, high earning career.

To succeed in this role, dependability, hard work, and a desire to learn will be critical. We would also expect you to exemplify our code of values, by showing respect and courtesy to all customers and employees.

• Assist with the professional installation of flooring products in new and existing homes
• Ensure projects are completed successfully and according to industry and manufacturer standards
• Ability to read blueprints, understand scopes of work, and follow instructions to ensure all client expectations are met.
• Perform other duties as needed which may include cross-training in related positions

• Valid driver's license with a clean record
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Dependable and conscientious individual who takes pride in the quality of their work
• The ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds on a repetitive basis, and up to 100 pounds on an occasional basis without assistance, and the physical ability to perform strenuous work under varied circumstances
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Compensation: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
