The OpportunityWe’re looking for a strong multicraft maintenance technician to help keep a high-volume shredding operation running over the weekend.
This isn’t a project-heavy maintenance position. Your focus is simple:
keep the line running, troubleshoot problems, make repairs and keep the equipment moving.
You’ll work alongside the Weekend Maintenance Supervisor/Lead and become one of the key maintenance resources on the weekend team. Mechanically, you’ll work on the equipment that keeps the operation moving. Electrically, you’ll be the go-to resource for everyday troubleshooting and repairs outside of the Supervisor/Lead.
What You’ll Be Working OnThe shredding operation is heavily mechanical and includes a lot of conveyors and electric motors
, along with the components that keep them running.
Your work will include:
- Troubleshooting and repairing mechanical equipment
- Diagnosing problems with electric motors and motor-driven equipment
- Minor electrical troubleshooting and wiring
- Replacing electrical and mechanical components
- Working with conveyors, bearings, belts, chains and pulleys
- Preventive maintenance and equipment inspections
- Responding to breakdowns and getting equipment back online
- Troubleshooting basic electrical/control issues
- Supporting the Supervisor/Lead with more involved electrical problems
- Helping keep the operation safe and running efficiently
There are no major projects or programming responsibilities. The priority is keeping the line running and taking care of the maintenance issues that come up.
What We’re Looking ForWe’re looking for someone who is genuinely multicraft and comfortable working across mechanical and electrical systems.
You should have:
- Strong industrial maintenance experience
- Solid mechanical troubleshooting ability
- Experience working with electric motors
- Ability to handle minor electrical repairs and wiring
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical problems using a meter
- A good understanding of mechanical components and equipment
- Your own basic hand tools
- The ability to work independently and make good decisions when equipment goes down
Experience with
conveyors, shredding equipment, welding/fabrication, industrial equipment, agricultural equipment, automotive/heavy truck or heavy equipment can all translate well.
You don’t have to be a licensed electrician — but you do need to be the person others can count on when an electrical issue comes up.

This is a great fit for a maintenance technician who likes being the person people call when something isn’t working.
