Administrative Assistant - Edward Little High School (190 Day School Year)
Starting Date: Immediately
Job DescriptionThis is a school year position for 190 days per year, from late August to June.
Position SummaryProvide comprehensive administrative and clerical support to ensure the efficient operation of the school office. Serve as a key point of contact for students, staff, families, and the public, maintaining a professional, welcoming, and organized environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Serve as a receptionist for the high school office; greet visitors in a friendly manner and respond to inquiries in person, by phone, and via email with professionalism and confidentiality.
- Provide administrative support to the administrative team and school staff.
- Maintain student records, attendance, and confidential files in accordance with state and district policies.
- Manage daily attendance, including tracking absences, tardiness, truancy, and early dismissals.
- Prepare correspondence, reports, and school communications.
- Coordinate office operations, including scheduling appointments, meetings, and events.
- Maintain calendars and assist with building logistics and event coordination.
- Support substitute teacher coordination and daily coverage needs.
- Ensure compliance with applicable policies, procedures, and confidentiality requirements (FERPA).
- Perform other duties as assigned by the administrative team or designee.
- High school diploma required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Prior experience in an office or school setting preferred.
- Ability to work as a team with strong interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Proficiency in office software (e.g., Google Workspace, Microsoft Office).
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
- Experience with student information systems (e.g., Power School) preferred.
- A positive, professional demeanor.
- Fast‑paced school office environment with frequent interruptions.
- Regular interaction with students, staff, families, and the public.
- Ability to sit, stand, and move about the office for extended periods.
- Occasional lifting of light to moderate office materials.

Job Requirements- Department of Education Fingerprinting (Criminal History Record Check).
- At least 2 years of relevant experience preferred.
