ResponsibilitiesCentral Maine Orthopedics is seeking a Full Time, Patient Care Coordinator (Cast Tech) to join our team!
Summary:
Responsible for working collaboratively with other team members to ensure the safe, timely, and accurate delivery of patient care. The Coordinator acts as the liaison between the clinic and the third-party contracted service that provides Durable Medical Equipment. The Coordinator provides direct patient care in the clinic to those requiring fracture care, casting/bracing, and durable medical equipment fittings. The Coordinator strives to create efficient systems and workflows within the clinic while enhancing the quality of patient care provided.
Essential Duties:
- Provides patient care for casting, bracing, and medical equipment fittings.
- Responsible for the ordering, receiving, and stocking of products, materials, equipment, and supplies for both the clinic and office settings.
- Completes daily checks of emergency management equipment in the clinic.
- Participates in ongoing quality improvement, infection prevention, and fiscal stewardship as it applies to the areas of expertise.
- Maintains all patient confidentiality and HIPAA rules and regulations.
Education and Experience:
- Associate’s degree in Nursing, Health Administration, or related field of study specific to Orthopedics.
- Supplemental certification in Orthopedic Technology.
- Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS required
. - 5+ years’ experience providing direct patient care in a hospital/clinical setting.
- Must have an Associates’ Degree from of an accredited school of medical assistance or a certificate in Medical Assisting or currently hold a valid certification, (CMA, RMA, CCMA) with two or more years of experience.
- You must have one (1) the following credentials or be eligible to obtain 1 (one) of the following credentials, based upon the credentialing organization’s eligibility requirements, within 90 days of hire:
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) – American Association of Medical Assistants
- Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) – American Medical Technologists
- Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) – National Health career Association
- Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) – The American Registry of Medical Assistants
