Facility Janitor and Maintenance Worker

Overview

MSA - The Safety Company is hiring a part‑time Facilities Janitor and Maintenance Worker in Auburn, Maine. The role involves cleaning support for a manufacturing plant, with a dedication to safety and cleanliness.

1st Shift – Part time – 24‑28 hours per week, 10:00 am – 4:00 pm, Monday‑Thursday.

• Clean interior of buildings: floors, carpet, rugs, windows, walls using floor scrubbers, vacuums, carpet cleaning machines.
• Disinfect common items: desks, door handles, office tools, phones.
• Maintain cleaning inventory and notify management for replacements.
• Empty trash and recycling bins.
• Monitor and refill bathroom supplies.
• Use forklift to empty trash receptacles.
• Perform minor facilities repairs: floor tape replacement, wall painting, light bulb replacement, toilet unclogging.
• Remove sewing debris from manufacturing equipment wheels.
• Other duties as directed by management.

• Read, write, and speak English.
• Stand on feet for full shift, reach, bend, stoop, twist as needed.
• Lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
• Wear required PPE.
• Operate floor scrubber, vacuums, carpet cleaners, and forklift once trained.
• Climb stairs.
• Work around cleaning chemicals.

• 1‑2 years of cleaning experience.
• High School Diploma or GED.
