Founded over 70 years ago in Cisano, Italy, MSA's Auburn, Maine facility plays a crucial role in bringing expertise and solutions in the Electrical and Automotive Component Manufacturing business to the North American market.
Compensation and BenefitsStarting Rate $20.82 per hour, plus $1.00 shift differential.
Benefits available after 90‑day probation:
- 3 Week Vacation and 40 hours Sick/Personal Time (prorated)
- 8 Hour
Shifts:
10:30pm – 6:30am - Paid Holidays – 11 per year

- Retirement Benefits – 401k available to set up and contribute after 6 months; 3% company contribution; company match 75% of your contribution up to 6%
The employee in this role will be required to perform each of the tasks below in a safe and timely manner. The operator must focus on quality as well as productivity.
Essential Responsibilities- Set up, operate, or tend plating or coating machines to coat metal
- Inspect coated or plated areas for defects such as air bubbles or uneven coverage
- Monitor and measure thicknesses of electroplating on component parts to verify conformance to specifications, using micrometers
- Adjust controls to set temperatures of coating substances and speeds of machines and equipment
- Perform equipment maintenance on tanks and filter systems
- Operate hoists
- Maintain production records
- Perform frequent heavy lifting
- Follow hazardous waste rules for generation and placement of hazardous waste into containers
- Select work from SAP production schedule and perform confirmation transactions

- High School Diploma / GED
- Good safety, attendance and performance record
- Able to interpret shop blueprints
- Able to interpret MOSs
- Able to do arithmetic and basic shop math
- Use standard measuring instruments
- Work with minimum supervision
