Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Machinist to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will set up, operate, and maintain manual and CNC machine tools to produce precision parts and components. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, and committed to producing high-quality work in a fast-paced production environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Set up and operate manual and CNC machine tools, including mills, lathes, grinders, drill presses, saws, and related equipment.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, CAD drawings, specifications, and tolerance requirements.
  • Machine parts to required dimensions using appropriate cutting tools, speeds, feeds, fixtures, and work-holding methods.
  • Measure, inspect, and test completed parts using micrometers, calipers, indicators, height gauges, gauges, and other precision instruments.
  • Adjust machine settings, monitor cutting conditions, and make corrections to maintain quality and reduce scrap.
  • Fabricate, modify, or repair machine components, fixtures, dies, tools, or mechanical instruments as required.
  • Maintain machine tools, tooling, work areas, and documentation in accordance with shop procedures and safety requirements.
  • Troubleshoot machining, tooling, material, or equipment issues and communicate findings to supervisors, engineers, maintenance, or production teams.
  • Follow all applicable workplace safety practices, including lockout/tagout, machine guarding, personal protective equipment, and safe material handling procedures.
Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent is commonly required.
  • Technical school, community college coursework, military training, apprenticeship, or equivalent on-the-job machining experience is often preferred.
  • Experience with manual machining, CNC operation, machine setup, tooling selection, and shop math.
  • Ability to read blueprints, interpret tolerances, and understand machining symbols and inspection requirements.
  • Proficiency using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, bore gauges, and height gauges.
  • Knowledge of metal properties, cutting tools, work-holding methods, machine maintenance basics, and quality control practices.
  • Strong troubleshooting, mechanical reasoning, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently, communicate clearly, and maintain quality and safety standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with CNC programming, setup sheets, tooling libraries, or CAD/CAM software.
  • Familiarity with quality systems, first-piece inspection, S.P.C, or ISO-based documentation.
  • Experience machining stainless steel, aluminum, tool steel, plastics, castings, forgings, or specialty alloys.
  • Relevant industry certifications, apprenticeship completion, or documented competency in CNC machining, safety, or inspection methods.

Work Environment Requirements :
  • Use of required PPE and adherence to all MSA safety protocols.
  • Ability to lift, move, and handle tooling components and materials as required.
  • Regular exposure to machining equipment, oils, coolants, and shop-floor environments.
  • Standing, walking, and manual work for extended periods.
