Position Summary

This role is essential for maintaining the operational integrity and efficiency of food equipment in Walmart stores. You will work within a dynamic team performing routine maintenance on a variety of commercial food equipment, ensuring safety, functionality, and compliance with food safety standards.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain and repair Walmart facilities, equipment, and assets using plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material‑handling, and food‑equipment skills.
  • Use the work‑order management system to receive reactive repair orders, support store associates, and document repair activities.
  • Provide prompt response to emergency maintenance calls.
  • Inspect, operate, or test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues.
  • Complete all required safety training and maintain certifications for operating equipment and tools.
  • Train store associates on equipment care, cleaning, and safe usage to reduce misuse and damage.
  • Maintain accurate and timely work‑order and maintenance logs.
  • Assist in developing and adhering to maintenance schedules and preventive maintenance plans.
Qualifications
  • 18 years or older.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid state‑issued driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, use ladders, work at heights, sit or stand for long periods, and work in varying temperatures.
  • Vocational or technical certification and at least 1 year of relevant experience (or 2 years total work experience) in plumbing, electrical, material‑handling equipment, or a related trade.
  • Eligibility for a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) if required.
Skills and Technical Expertise
  • Diagnose and repair commercial food equipment.
  • Develop and follow preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Train associates on equipment care and cleaning.
  • Manage work orders and maintenance logs.

  • Food Equipment: combi ovens, deli slicers, auto meat cutters, fryers, hot cases, ice makers, pizza ovens, rotisserie ovens, thermoglazers, donut cases, four‑bowl warmers, bakery ovens, bread slicers, tortilla makers.
Grease and Oil Systems
  • Oil/water separators and used cooking oil tanks.

Compensation
  • Hourly wage range: $19.00 – $35.00. Actual rate may exceed the minimum wage applicable to the job location.
