Maintenance Technician

Maine Oxy is currently looking to fill a Facility Maintenance Technician position. This position will be responsible for performing corrective and preventive maintenance work at the facility and on facility equipment.

This is a full-time year-round position with a great opportunity to grow if you are interested in the industry. This is a Monday-Friday 7 AM-4 PM shift with opportunities for voluntary overtime.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Adhering to all Maine Oxy safety standards
• Maintaining a preventive and corrective maintenance program documentation
• Managing maintenance work areas for safety, health, and environmental compliance
• Managing orders and receipt of maintenance related tools and equipment
• Assist with snow removal and groundskeeping

Qualifications:

• 1 year experience working in an industrial setting preferred
• Aptitude to operate and maintain pneumatic and mechanical equipment
• Ability to operate material handling equipment including forklifts, and pallet jacks
• Demonstrated ability to multi-task, and work within precise limits or standards of accuracy.
• Safety must be first priority.
• Ability to read and comprehend policies, procedures and other company and industry documents.
• Must have mechanical aptitude
• Piping/Welding Knowledge
• Electrician knowledge is a plus

Education:

• High School Diploma or equivalent

Physical Requirements:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to see, speak and hear.
• Frequent standing, walking, using hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; may stoop, kneel, or crouch.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Ability to perform very heavy work—routinely lift 25lbs to 50lbs, and occasionally lift 51lbs to greater than 100lbs. Also required to push and pull liquid containers weighing up to 1000 pounds with the aid of material handling equipment.
• Must be able to work outdoors in temperatures ranging from
  -10 to over 100 degrees.
• Ability to smell/hear leaking gas from cylinders
