Republic Services is seeking qualified Technicians for our Apprenticeship Program.
Technicians play a critical role in maintaining the performance and quality of the fleet. As an apprentice, you will perform routine and preventive maintenance on diesel and non‑diesel equipment and trucks.
- Electrical diagnosis of starting & charging systems
- Air conditioning & heating component identification & inspection
- Wheel end assembly component identification & inspection
- Air system component identification & inspection
- Air brakes component identification & inspection
- Hydraulics component identification & inspection
- Truck preventive maintenance
This program includes nine weeks of company‑paid, in‑person training at the Technical Institute in Dallas, Texas, followed by 22 months of on‑the‑job training with mentorship and virtual instructor‑led content. You also have the opportunity to advance to a Level C Technician sooner if milestones are met, and you will earn a tuition‑free certification as a Diesel Mechanic.
Minimum Qualifications- Logical problem solver with interest in engineering and technology
- Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, or holidays
- Willingness to uphold Republic Services values of safety, ethics, and respect
- Willing to travel to Dallas, Texas for 9 weeks of training
- Commitment to complete the two‑year apprenticeship
- High School or GED required
- Training starts 10 August 2026
- Permanent shop assignment in Auburn, Maine
- Pay: $16.00 /hour during 9‑week training; $25.45 /hour after graduation; hourly increases with overtime and promotion
