Field Service Technician Midwest - Residence in Indiana
Kadant South America is seeking a Field Service Technician based in Indiana to support the maintenance, installation, start‑up, and troubleshooting of Kadant Solutions products.
OverviewThe Field Service Technician is responsible for providing maintenance, installation, start‑up, and troubleshooting of Kadant Solutions products. The successful candidate must be capable of prioritizing and handling multiple tasks simultaneously as well as developing and maintaining strong customer relationships, and maintaining accurate, complete, and up‑to‑date customer information. Results will be measured by service revenue generated and growth of consumable products at targeted accounts.
Position requires the candidate to reside in the territory that includes Indiana.
- Plan, schedule, and execute service, installation, start‑up, and troubleshooting mill visits.
- Provide accurate and timely reports and billing documentation; take field notes, conduct surveys, map machines, and evaluate existing equipment.
- Communicate with engineering regarding field modifications.
- Assist the District Sales Manager with promotion and sales of all products, including service, service contracts, and spare parts.
- Bachelor’s degree, associate degree with two years of technical field experience, or high school diploma with five years of technical field experience in an industrial or military setting.
- Experience in paper machine applications is a plus.
- Strong technical and mechanical aptitude coupled with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Critical thinking skills and ability to apply consistent logic to diverse situations.
- Must be able to work remotely from a home office, independently, and be a team player.
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office.
