Field Service Technician – Residence in Northern Texas (Texarkana or Dallas area)

Kadant South America is hiring a dedicated Field Service Technician to provide maintenance, installation, start‑up, and troubleshooting of Kadant Solutions products. The ideal candidate resides within Northern Texas (Texarkana or Dallas area) and can work independently while building strong customer relationships.

Overview

This role focuses on delivering reliable field service to key accounts, driving service revenue, and supporting the growth of consumable products. Successful performance is measured by timely service delivery, accurate reporting, and the development of strong client relationships.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, schedule, and execute service, installation, start‑up, and troubleshooting visits to mill sites.
  • Provide accurate and timely reports, billing documentation, and field notes.
  • Conduct surveys, map machines, evaluate existing equipment, and advise on field modifications.
  • Collaborate with engineering to discuss equipment performance and enhancements.
  • Assist the District Sales Manager in promoting and selling service contracts, spare parts, and other products.
  • Travel extensively, including occasional weekends and holidays, as required by customer schedules.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree, associate degree with two years of technical field experience, or high school diploma with five years of technical field experience in an industrial or military setting.
  • Experience with paper machine applications is advantageous.
  • Strong technical and mechanical aptitude with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and logical problem‑solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently from a home office while remaining a team player.
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office.
