Starting rate of pay: $31.51/hr + shift differential (if applicable) + $2.00 CDL differential (if applicable)

Main Responsibilities
  • Ensure vehicles are maintained and safe for our customers
  • Use Penske’s tools and technologies to log, research, and complete repairs, including basic vehicle diagnostics
  • Perform preventative maintenance repairs—such as replacing or rotating tires, completing vehicle component lubrication and replacement, some electrical system repairs, and cooling system maintenance on gas and diesel engine vehicles
  • Partner with your manager to learn new skills through Penske’s technician training and hands‑on coaching
  • Work on other projects and tasks as assigned by your supervisor

Qualifications
  • High‑school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and 1‑2 years of automotive or diesel repair experience (preferred)
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Problem‑solving ability and comfort using tools
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work well as part of a team and independently
  • Basic computer skills
  • Must understand and comply with specific instructions, guidelines, rules, regulations, or other information established by Penske management
  • Must adhere to DOT, OSHA, and Penske safety and maintenance policies, including the correct selection and use of appropriate tools, PPE, machine guarding, and established best safety practices
  • Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
  • Must maintain a current driver qualification file, including annual MVR check, completed DOT Physical, Safety Performance History records from the last three years, and, for CDL holders, a DOT drug screening within 30 days and FMCSA Clearinghouse review
  • Willingness to work the required schedule, work at the specific location, complete Penske employment application, submit to background screening (criminal checks, past employment and education), pass a drug screen and physical as required by DOT, and possible travel within a near geography for training

  • See and hear to safely navigate the work environment amid frequent movement of large trucks
  • Regularly lift or move up to 50 lbs (23 kg) and occasionally up to 100 lbs (45 kg); also push/pull truck tires exceeding 100 lbs on a regular basis
