A delivery driver will operate a company-provided vehicle, picking up and delivering automotive parts while maintaining excellent customer service and safety standards.
Responsibilities- Load, transport, and deliver items to customers or businesses in a timely, friendly and courteous manner.
- Review orders before and after delivery to ensure completeness, correct charges, and customer satisfaction.
- Take and follow directions from dispatcher, adhere to assigned routes, use navigation apps, and adjust routes as necessary.
- Assist with loading and unloading items from vehicles without interfering with customer operations.
- Provide excellent customer service, answer questions, and professionally handle complaints and concerns.
- Abide by all transportation laws and maintain a safe driving record.
- Accept payments, prepare invoices, return forms, reconcile debt and credit, and record all moneys collected related to deliveries.
- Complete daily vehicle maintenance checks and notify management of any issues.
- Assist in other store or warehouse duties as assigned.
- Maintain and promote workplace safety.
Minimum Requirements:
- Current, valid driver’s license.
- Must meet company insurance requirements (drivers must be 21 years old or older).
- Ability to lift, move, push and pull up to 50 pounds (75 lbs for auto body parts drivers).
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Manage, track and account for money transactions, reconcile customer credit and debt balances.
- Utilize a tablet and/or mobile device for navigation, route optimization, tracking and customer interface/signature capture.
- Excellent verbal communication skills; communicate professionally, with tact and diplomacy.
- Follow directions and work well with others as part of a team.
- Flexible schedule with willingness to work overtime as needed.
- Previous delivery driving experience is a plus.
