Position Overview

Seeking an experienced Stepdown RN to join a busy MS/Telemetry unit. Candidates must be comfortable caring for post-cardiac catheterization patients and independently interpreting telemetry strips.

Floating is required based on staffing needs.

Requirements

✔ Minimum 2 years Stepdown or MS/Tele experience
✔ Active New York State RN license
✔ BLS (required)
✔ ACLS (required)
✔ NIHSS certification (required prior to start)
✔ 6 Stroke-related CEUs (required prior to start)
✔ Post-cath experience required
✔ Must interpret own telemetry strips
✔ Strong IV skills (no IV team onsite)
✔ Travel experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in Stepdown/MS-Tele setting
• Monitor and interpret telemetry rhythms independently
• Care for post-cardiac catheterization patients
• Initiate and manage IV therapy
• Administer medications and cardiac drips per protocol
• Perform focused cardiac and neuro assessments
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to ensure safe patient care
• Float to other units as needed
