Manufacturing Shop Foreman

AVStar Fuel Systems Inc. is seeking a motivated, hands-on Manufacturing Shop Foreman to lead our aerospace manufacturing team. In this dynamic role, you will oversee daily manufacturing operations to ensure production goals are met safely, efficiently, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards.

The Shop Foreman will be responsible for developing the production team into a high-performing unit while advancing the company's vision, culture, and commitment to continuous improvement. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, effective problem solver, and hands-on leader who inspires teamwork, accountability, and operational excellence.

Success in this role requires the ability to recognize and leverage the unique skills and strengths of individual team members while helping them develop professionally and achieve personal fulfillment in their work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Mentor, lead, coach, and develop production employees while serving as the primary point of contact for daily support and guidance on the production floor.
  • Plan and distribute the daily production schedule, prioritize projects, and coordinate day-to-day operations.
  • Maintain accurate production schedules and appropriate product inventory levels while meeting company deadlines.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on throughput, material quality, productivity, and cost efficiency.
  • Work hands-on with production, quality, and other team members to fulfill customer orders in a timely manner.
  • Monitor production progress, identify issues, escalate concerns when necessary, and make timely operational decisions.
  • Create and maintain production schedules using the company ERP system; enter and update data, correct errors, and communicate schedule changes to team members in real time.
  • Interpret production data, identify trends, and use data to make informed operational decisions.
  • Provide direction and support to plant personnel while fostering teamwork, accountability, and operational discipline.
  • Promote a strong safety culture by reinforcing safe work practices, conducting inspections, and leading by example.
  • Ensure compliance with AS9100 requirements, company policies, quality standards, and established work procedures.
  • Communicate effectively across departments to ensure deadlines are met, follow-up is completed, and company goals are achieved.

Skills & Knowledge

  • Supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and structured problem-solving methodologies.
  • Strong knowledge of products/parts and an understanding of manufacturing, purchasing, and production planning processes.
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, coach, and develop teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong initiative, creativity, assertiveness, and sound judgment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation, organizational, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to read and interpret work instructions, production documentation, and related manufacturing materials.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, ERP Systems, Word, and Outlook.
  • Working knowledge of AS9100 quality management requirements.
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety, product quality, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Supervisory

    Experience:

    Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
  • Education:

    A 2- to 4-year degree is preferred; a combination of education and relevant manufacturing experience will be considered.
  • Hands-on leadership experience in a production/manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize work, manage competing demands, and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong commitment to safety, quality, productivity, and teamwork.
