Job Description
A healthcare facility in Auburn, New York is seeking an experienced Travel Registered Nurse (RN) to join its Medical Surgical / Telemetry (Stepdown) team for a night shift assignment. The RN will provide high-quality patient care to medically complex and cardiac patients requiring continuous monitoring in a fast-paced acute care environment.
The ideal candidate is confident in telemetry interpretation, experienced in post-cardiac catheterization care, and comfortable floating to other appropriate units based on facility needs.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver comprehensive nursing care to Med Surg and Stepdown/Telemetry patients
Monitor cardiac rhythms and independently interpret telemetry strips
Provide care for post-cardiac catheterization patients
Administer IV medications and treatments safely and accurately
Perform ongoing patient assessments and respond to clinical changes promptly
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with facility standards
Float to other units as required based on staffing needs
Provide patient and family education related to treatment plans and recovery
Minimum Requirements
Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) License
Minimum 2 years of RN experience
Recent Med Surg / Telemetry or Stepdown experience
Post-Cardiac Catheterization experience required
Ability to interpret own telemetry strips
Strong IV therapy skills
Willingness to float as needed
Availability to work night shifts and every other weekend
Certifications Required
Basic Life Support (BLS)
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification (required prior to start)
Completion of 6 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) related to stroke care prior to assignment start
Tripod Partners USA Job . Pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
