Job Description
A healthcare facility in Auburn, New York is seeking an experienced Travel Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse (RN) for a night shift assignment. This role involves providing advanced, high-acuity care to critically ill patients while working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary critical care team.
The ideal candidate is an experienced ICU nurse with prior travel experience who is comfortable taking charge responsibilities when needed and flexible to float to Medical Surgical units based on staffing requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill ICU patients
Perform detailed patient assessments and continuous monitoring of complex conditions
Manage ventilators, vasoactive drips, and advanced cardiac monitoring equipment
Respond rapidly to changes in patient condition and emergency situations
Administer medications and treatments in accordance with critical care protocols
Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and interdisciplinary teams
Serve in Charge Nurse capacity when required
Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation
Float to Medical Surgical units as needed to support staffing demands
Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and recovery expectations
Minimum Requirements
Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) License
Minimum 2 years of recent ICU nursing experience
Previous travel nursing experience required
Ability to function independently in a high-acuity environment
Willingness to float to Med Surg units when needed
Charge-capable experience preferred
Certifications Required
Basic Life Support (BLS) – AHA
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – AHA
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification – AHA (required prior to start)
Completion of 6 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) related to stroke care prior to assignment start
Preferred Qualifications
Previous Charge Nurse experience
Strong critical thinking and leadership skills
Experience in fast-paced community or acute care ICU settings
Tripod Partners USA Job . Pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
