Registered Nurse IMC​/PCU​/Stepdown

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Step-Down RN to join our team, providing specialized nursing care for patients with complex cardiac and respiratory conditions. The role involves managing critically ill patients in a fast-paced environment, ensuring quality care and patient safety.

Responsibilities:

• Provide medical and nursing care to patients with diagnoses such as CHF, post-heart catheterization, vascular procedures, respiratory failure, and cardiac dysrhythmias.
• Monitor patient vital signs, neurovascular status, and perform frequent assessments including neuro, cardiac, and respiratory parameters.
• Administer medications, including emergency drugs, and manage IV therapies such as PICC lines and medication drips.
• Assist with procedures like chest tube insertion, removal, and other post-vascular or cardiac interventions.
• Follow infection prevention protocols, PPE use, and maintain strict isolation precautions.
• Document care accurately in the EMR system and collaborate with the healthcare team for optimal patient outcomes.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years recent experience in a Step-Down or Cardiac ICU environment.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required.
• Proficient in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, 12-lead EKG/ECG, and IV management.
• Strong understanding of post-procedure care, respiratory support, and neurological assessment.
• Ability to work night shifts (3x12 hours) with guaranteed hours and flexible scheduling.
