Registered Nurse IMC​/PCU​/Stepdown

Job Summary:

The Step-Down RN provides specialized care to patients recovering from cardiac and vascular procedures, with a focus on monitoring, medication administration, and patient stability. This role requires recent experience in a step-down unit to ensure optimal patient outcomes and safety.

Responsibilities:

• Administer medications, monitor cardiac rhythms, and respond to arrhythmias or patient deterioration.
• Perform frequent neurovascular checks and vital sign assessments to detect changes in patient status.
• Manage IV lines, including PICC insertion, maintenance, and administration of fluids and medications.
• Assist with procedures such as chest tube management and vascular access while adhering to infection control protocols.
• Document patient information accurately in the EMR system and communicate effectively with healthcare team members.
• Triage and intervene promptly for respiratory support needs, including BiPAP and CPAP management.

Qualifications:

• Valid RN license and current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.
• Minimum of 2 years recent experience in a step-down or ICU setting.
• Proficiency in cardiac monitoring, 12-lead ECG interpretation, and dysrhythmia management.
• Demonstrated ability to handle complex neurological and respiratory cases competently.
• Strong understanding of infection prevention and PPE protocols.
