Hiring Range: $22.00‑25.00/hr DOE

Tell Me About This Job!Every day campers participate in fun and engaging YMCA summer day camp programs. Lead Counselors will lead a group of 10‑15 youth in various activities throughout the camp, including group games, crafts, STEM projects, cooking projects and more. Spend your summer full of fun with kids all summer long!

Day Camp season runs June 22nd through the end of August (start dates vary by location) with training the week of 06/13‑06/19.
Leads will start 5/1.

Scheduled for shifts during Day Camp Hours Monday‑Friday Between 7:00 AM and 6:00 PM (between 30‑40 hours a week).

- Assist Camp Supervisor in training, guiding, and overseeing Camp Counselors.
- Oversee a group of up to 15 children to ensure their health, safety and to provide a positive experience for each camper.
- Implement program activities. May be asked to assist in planning activities.
- Follow YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention and emergency procedures.
- Professionally engage with parents/guardians to provide pertinent program information and share about their camper’s experience.
- Ensure that equipment is clean, safe, set up and stored properly.
- Attend staff meetings and training programs as required.
- Other duties as assigned.

Camp programs require Mumps, Measles and Rubella immunization in accordance with Department of Children, Youth and Family requirements.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, colour vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.
