The Project Manager directs daily activities of various construction projects from start to finish. Responsibilities include scheduling, ordering materials, allocating equipment, working directly with prime/sub-contractors, running interference with various agency employees (project engineers, project inspectors, etc.), reading/understanding construction specifications, and comprehension of WA L&I, OSHA/legislative regulations. Successful Project Managers exemplify organizational and time-management skills.

Job Duties
  • Determine needed resources (labor, equipment, materials, etc.) from start to finish with high attention to budgetary limitations
  • Evaluate progress of project.
  • Oversee subcontracting of specialized craftwork
  • Inspect work in progress to ensure that work conforms to specifications
  • Analyze plan-sets, specifications, proposals, and other construction documents to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates for bidding construction projects
  • Prepare preliminary estimates for planning purposes
  • Detail itemized estimates based on final plans and specifications
Requirements
  • Vocational or apprenticeship training supplemented with 3-5 years of construction leadership experience, or equivalent
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or Construction Management preferred but not required
  • Ability to analyze and interpret construction plan-sets and specifications
  • Ability to work under strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Familiarity with WA L&I, OSHA standards
  • Proficient MS Office
  • Outstanding communication and negotiation skills
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • A team player with leadership abilities
