OS&D Clerk / Full-time / Monday – Friday / 7:30am to 4pm

The OS&D (Over, Short & Damaged) Clerk Level I position involves managing and resolving discrepancies in the freight shipments, while following all established OHFL policies and procedures
Responsibilities- Review all previous day deliveries for short, overages, damages, and refusals.
- Investigate packages without identification to ensure they are directed to the appropriate customer.
- Conduct a damaged good assessment, contact shipper, schedule external inspection, and obtain disposition from shipper based on outcome of investigation.
- Answer phone calls and provide customer service by assisting with inquiries.
- May work with Drivers to resolve freight claims.
- After thorough investigation, report all unidentified freight to the claims team.
- Assist the claims team with salvage freight.
- Other office duties as assigned.
- 2+ years’ experience in position with significant customer contact and customer service.
- At least 1 year in administrative role in an office environment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to track several different packages and inquiries simultaneously.
- LTL experience and knowledge of terminology and processes in shipping strongly preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral. Ability to work across several different Oak Harbor departments to resolve issues.
- Strong PC proficiency and experience using MS Office products. AS400 experience preferred but not required.
- H.S. diploma or GED/equivalent preferred.
