Adjunct Instructor
Green River College welcomes individuals to apply who have a commitment to teach and the ability to utilize a variety of methods and modes of instruction to ensure student success. Given the diversity of our student population, we encourage applicants who can adapt instructional methods to a wide range of student backgrounds and interests. Classes taught may include, but are not limited, to the following classes:
Fundamentals of Computers, Keyboarding, Microsoft Applications classes (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook, and One Note), Business Math Applications, Business Correspondence, Office Relations and Procedures, Legal Office Procedures, and other courses as needed. Green River College's student body is made up of approximately 41% Academic Transfer students, 34% Professional-Technical students, 15% Adult Basic Education student, and 3% Applied Bachelor degrees. Green River College has four campuses, including the main campus in Auburn, Washington, with satellite campuses in Kent, downtown Auburn, and Enumclaw.
Green River programs serve high school graduates, Running Start students (dual enrollment in local high schools and the college), those seeking retraining for the workforce, international students, students learning English, and Continuing Education students. Green River's service areas are increasingly ethnically diverse, comprising African Americans, African immigrants, Asian Americans, Asians, Latinx, Native Americans, Pacific Islanders, and Middle Eastern Americans, among other communities.

This assignment may also include the following:
- Conduct classroom instruction.
- Research texts, equipment, and supplies for assigned courses.
- Develop and update curriculum, including e-Learning courses, as guided by Advisory Committee recommendations.
- Maintain academic and professional competency.
- Cooperate with faculty in meeting goals and objectives for the department.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in a business, education, or technology-related field
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master's degree in a business, education, or technology-related field
- Secondary education or community college teaching experience
- Demonstrated experience working with people of diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds as well as those with disabilities.
