The Academic Success Coach plays an integral role in the support and success of students in an accelerated nursing program at our future site in Auburn, WA. Major responsibilities include registration, academic advising/success coaching and the retention/persistence of enrolled nursing students. The Success Coach interacts with students, university faculty and advising teams, professional staff, and other program personnel to enhance and facilitate the progression, and graduation of students.
PrimaryJob Objectives
- Facilitation and support of student progression
- Provide on-site success coaching and coordination of appropriate student services
- Manage student registration process for each semester (3 per year)
- Provide proactive and developmental coaching/advising for all active students
- Actively initiate and continue ongoing guidance to students whose grades, attendance, and/or personal barriers put them academically at risk
- Communicate concerns about student progress to the student, faculty members, and administration in conjunction with coaching efforts and strategy
- Consistently engage with students to promote success using forums such as one‑on‑one meetings, phone calls, face‑to‑face video chat, and success seminars
- Ensure timely coordination of registration of selected courses
- Act as a liaison for student(s) in matters related to academic appeals, readmission requests, grievances, etc. affecting a student’s progress through the program
- Appropriately document communication with students and maintain all required student population reports
- Positive attitude, high level of energy and enthusiasm
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret reports
- Confidence, resilience, strong organizational skills, exceptional persistence, a high level of commitment, and the ability to guide and motivate others
- Experience coaching students to ensure retention and persistence
- Master’s degree preferred
Compensation: $80,164.40 salary
