Job Description
The Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager leads site compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations while promoting a strong safety culture. This role partners with site leadership to drive EHS performance, ensure regulatory compliance, and support continuous improvement.
The position reports directly to the Plant Manager. It also has a dotted-line relationship to corporate EHS leadership and may support enterprise-wide initiatives and assist other locations as needed, including occasional travel.
Responsibilities- Lead EHS programs and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA, L&I)
- Partner with site leadership to implement and sustain safe work practices
- Oversee incident reporting and investigations; drive root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Develop and deliver EHS training to maintain compliance and build capability
- Conduct inspections and audits; identify risks and ensure timely resolution
- Manage compliance calendars, regulatory reporting, and agency interactions
- Lead emergency response programs, including planning, training, and drills
- Track, analyze, and report EHS metrics; drive corrective actions and continuous improvement
- Manage environmental compliance activities, including permitting, reporting, and monitoring (air, water, waste)
- Ensure effective systems for SDS management, industrial hygiene, and environmental testing
- Support sustainability initiatives and corporate EHS systems (e.g., Origami)
- Partner with cross-functional teams (Operations, Engineering, HR, Risk) on projects, inspections, and injury management
- Review capital projects, process changes, and facility modifications for EHS risks
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in EHS or related field required, or equivalent experience;
Master’s preferred - 5+ years of EHS experience in manufacturing, including regulatory interaction
- 2+ years of leadership experience
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, L&I and environmental regulations (air, water, waste)
- Experience with audits, incident investigations, and compliance programs
- Professional certifications (e.g., ASP, CSP, CIH, CHMM) preferred
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to influence, collaborate, and manage multiple priorities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and EHS systems
- Ability to work independently and manage budgets

- Office, warehouse, and manufacturing settings; occasional lab exposure
- Moderate physical activity may be required for emergency response
- Occasional domestic travel (2–3 trips per year)
